De Nesse in Limmen nominated for best small campsite: “Sanitary is top notch”

Guests praise the hospitality, the spacious pitches and the fact that it is located close to the beach: it is therefore not completely out of the blue that mini-camping De Nesse in Limmen has been nominated by the ANWB for ‘Best small campsite in the Netherlands’ . Appreciation everywhere, but there is one thing that is emphatically praised by the visitors: the sanitary facilities. “The ambiance, the environment, it’s all fine”, says a camping guest from his awning. “But the sanitary facilities are really great.”

Camping De Nesse in Limmen has been nominated for ‘Best small campsite in the Netherlands’ – NH Nieuws

John and Nathalie Adrichem have been running their mini-campsite in Limmen for twenty-six years. The ANWB nomination came as a surprise to them. “We didn’t see that coming,” said Nathalie. “I’m a little bit shaking all day.” Although the ANWB has not provided any further explanation about the reasons for nomination, John does have his thoughts about it. “Our strength is the small scale and the personal attention to the guests. And also ensure that your site is in good condition.” And the latter is something Nathalie also agrees. “We keep it tidy here. And that appeals to people too.”

“I’ve never experienced sanitary facilities like this”

A short tour of the camping guests shows that they wholeheartedly support the nomination. “It is always neat and tidy here, the staff is always friendly,” says a visitor from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. “But especially the sanitary facilities are so fantastic. I have been going on holiday for many years, but I have never experienced it as good as at this campsite.” An elderly lady, a few pitches away, has become a familiar face to the owners. “We were also here last year and we liked it so much that we chose this place again this year.”

January result

Whether John and Nathalie will eventually be able to cash in on the nomination and take home the first prize remains to be seen. The ANWB will announce the winner of the ten nominated campsites on 11 January. For owner John, the nomination alone is a great compliment. Nevertheless, the couple will do everything they can to get as many votes as possible in the coming period. “Of course we will ask our circles of friends and networks to vote for our campsite.”
