GVVV was already 2-0 ahead after six minutes, after goals from Justin Spies and Arwin van Soest. Dimitrios Theodoridis did something back on behalf of De Graafschap, but Quincy Veenhof and Spies put the home team at 4-1. Jevon Simons reduced the deficit from a penalty kick, 4-2.

Also FC Emmen lost against an amateur club. The club from Drenthe lost 1-0 to third divisionist Hoogeveen. Sander Egbers used a penalty on behalf of the home team in the 22nd minute.

There was a very special situation during the match in Drenthe between Hoogeveen and FC Emmen. Gersom Klok, former FC Emmen player, works as a physical trainer at the Drenthe professional club and combines his work with playing football at VV Hoogeveen. And so the defender contributed to the club’s elimination, earning his living during the week. Klok, as a tease in the cup, will probably not be welcomed enthusiastically when he reports to the Meerdijk again for physical training.

At the duel between Katwijk and Speed penalty kicks had to decide. Dillon Hoogewerf had helped Vitesse take the lead, but Maurizio Brenna brought the Katwijk amateurs back past the visitors from Arnhem fifteen minutes before the end. The home team was the lucky one after a long series of penalties: 4-3.

HHC Hardenberg and TOP Oss also needed extra time after no goals had been scored in regular playing time. First division player TOP Oss won 2-0 thanks to an own goal by Danny Bouws and a goal by the Belgian Jules Van Bost.

Gemert was the better team before halftime, but failed to take advantage of a number of big opportunities. After a late start to the second half due to disturbances along the pitch, Fortuna substitute Kristoffer Peterson needed just three minutes to score.

The Swede slid the ball in after a smooth combination. Dylan van Diepen then hit the bar on behalf of Gemert.

PEC Zwolle recorded a 4-1 victory Helmond Sports. The home team still took the lead, but Kaj de Rooij, Shola Shoretire and Thijs Oosting, who scored twice, gave PEC Zwolle the win. Roda JC was too strong for 5-1 Capelle and Almere City won 2-0 at Sparta Nijkerk.
