The entry from Groningen, Everything Goldis the winning song at the Regional Song Contest in Arnhem. The Roo Brothers finished seventh. They represented Drenthe at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Olde Jetta.
With that song the duo won Pop in ‘t plat at the first Songfestival Drenthe. The song received 86 points from the professional jury. The public chose OIde Jetta as the sixth favorite song and De Broers gave Roo 49 points.
“Considering the field of participants, a realistic place,” Radio Drenthe presenter Wim Boer responds to seventh place for the duo. “They didn’t finish at the bottom. They did well.”
The winning number was Everything Goldsung by Groningen residents Jeroen Russchen and Iwan Esajas. The song was chosen as the winning song of the Regional Song Contest by both the professional jury (138 points) and the audience (84 points).
