Lea Debeljak from BC Marburg in the game against Keltern

As of: April 29, 2026 • 9:57 p.m

In the fight for the German championship, BC Marburg has fallen behind. In the first home game of the series, the opponents from Keltern were too strong – and now have the chance to make everything clear in the next game.

BC Marburg suffered a defeat in the final series for the championship in the Basketball Bundesliga. The BCM lost game three on Wednesday evening with 60:76 (20:38). This means that opponent Keltern is now in the lead again.

Marburg women are not nearly accurate enough

The guests were good in the game right from the start, while the Marburgers had problems and weren’t accurate enough. They only scored nine points in the first quarter. And even after that, things didn’t get any better from a Hessian perspective. Already at halftime everything seemed to be clear at 20:38.

In the second round, the BCM was able to score points much more often, but Keltern also continued to perform well. So it remained a clear and never endangered away win.

Pressing can become champions on Friday

The defeat leaves Marburg 1-2 behind in the final series. The Hessians had previously won one of the two away games in Keltern. Since the game is played in “best of three” mode, Keltern can clinch the championship with another away win on Friday (4 p.m.). If Marburg wins, the all-important game in Keltern will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m.
