It’s the time of the year in review. We don’t want to ignore this and use the penultimate issue of “HSBC Daily Trading” this year to take a slightly different look into the (stock market) rear-view mirror. Look forward to a few technical chart facts about 2025 outside the “mainstream”: +++ DAX® continues its winning streak – the German “blue chips” are once again increasing by over 20%. The (performance) truth also means that the price increase mainly comes from the first half of the year. Since then, “treading water” has been the order of the day. We see this as a key pattern for 2026 (see annual outlook). Also noteworthy is the annual low (18,490 points) and the annual high (24,771 points): The high-low range of over 6,000 points is the largest in history! Logically, the base effect helps here, but it is still the largest point range in history +++ 2025 will go down in the history books as the second “year of all-time highs” in a row. 33 – 44 – 52 as a perfect triad: 33 record levels for the DAX®, 44 for the S&P 500® and 52 for the gold price. Statistically speaking, the precious metal reached a new all-time high once a week +++ See below for further information +++
