David Pel from Amstelveen has not succeeded in winning the double final at Wimbledon. He lost with his Australian partner Rinky Hijikata from the British couple Cash/Glasspool in two sets, 6-2, 7-6 (3).

Pel played his first grand slam final on London’s grass. He also tennis with Hijikata for the first time. On the way to the final, the couple had to eliminate match points, but surprisingly reached the final battle. In the semi -finals, Pel and Hijikata even settled with the first placed couple Marcelo Arevalo from El Salvador and the Kroaat Mate Pavic.

Due to the loss of Pel, Wesley Koolhof remains the last Dutch winner of the men’s doubles on Wimbledon. Koolhof won the title together with the Brit Neal Skupski in 2023.
