A Manchester United legend Denis Law’s death touched David Beckham greatly.
On Friday, it was reported that Law died at the age of 84. He was an exceptional player in Manchester. His two statues in front of the Old Trafford stadium are a reminder of that.
In the 1960s and 70s, Law played a total of more than 300 matches in a United shirt. The attacker scored 171 goals in them.
Beckham shared two separate posts in his Instagram stories. In them, he remembered Law with pictures.
– We lost a great gentleman in football, Beckham wrote and conveyed his condolences to Law’s family.
– We received the news with heavy hearts. He was a legend on the field and a complete gentleman off it,” Beckham continued.
Also among other things Paul Scholes, Andy Cole, Sir Kenny Dalglish and Wayne Rooney remembered Law on social media. Dalglish is remembered from the ranks of United’s rival Liverpool.
Legend. My thoughts are with his family and friends,” Rooney wrote.
The cover of Saturday’s edition of the Manchester Evening News prominently commemorated “King” Law.
