The offspring of Foo Fighters-frontman is reportedly working on their first musical work. Violet Grohl is “incredibly committed,” says the anonymous source. “Her singing is great, she is very talented.” The new material is created in the 18-year-old’s own studio, which she received from her father for her birthday. She works with producer Justin Raisen, who has already collaborated with artists such as Drake, John Legend and Charli XCX. Most recently he was involved in Kim Gordon’s Grammy-nominated album THE COLLECTIVE (2024). No further details are known about the debut album.
Foo Fighters fans know Violet Grohl
The public has already been able to convince themselves of Violet Grohl’s musical talent in the past. She released her first song as a solo artist with the X cover “Nausea”, but her performances alongside her father generated more attention. She first performed with Dave Grohl in 2018 when she was 12 years old and sang a cover of Adele’s “When We Were Young.”
She later appeared on stage with other remaining Nirvana members and performed the hit “Heart-Shaped Box”. She also sang background vocals on the Foo Fighters albums MEDICINE AT MIDNIGHT (2021) and BUT HERE WE ARE (2023), was at Tribute concert for the late drummer Taylor Hawkins and was – independently of Dave Grohl – on stage with St. Vincent and Beck.
Dave Grohl is left behind
Violet Grohl’s famous father Dave Grohl has recently caused fewer storms of joy. In September, the musician announced that he had become the father of a daughter. However, the child’s mother is not his wife Jordyn Blum, with whom he has been married since 2003 and has three daughters – including Violet. Fans reacted with disappointment, but appreciated the rock star’s openness and his announcement that he wanted to be there for the newborn. The Foo Fighters singer has since withdrawn from the public eye.
