Dave Gahan and Kurt Uenala have released GOD, the first single from their December 16th ambient EP Manuscript.

“I’m very excited to release this first track from my upcoming mini synth ambient album with Dave Gahan. It was written and recorded in dark times, but with a ray of light on the horizon. Me and everyone involved hope you enjoy it,” wrote producer-songwriter Uenala on Facebook.

Two friends and a songwriting duo

The Swiss and the Brit got to know each other in the late noughties in New York. Initially, Uenala had recorded some vocal tracks for Gahan and later also edited Depeche Mode tracks. Over time, not only a friendship developed between the two musicians, but also a profound artistic collaboration. Uenala has collaborated with Gahan to compose a number of songs for the synth-pop group over the past few years, including “Broken” and “Secret To The End” released on “Delta Machine,” as well as “No More (This is the Last Time )” from Spirit.

In return, Gahan immortalized himself on Uenala’s electronic solo album Cryosleep, which he released five years ago under the nom de plume Null+Void. That cooperation is titled “Where I Wait”.
