The fourth edition of the Cruyff Legacy 14K has raised 385,000 euros for the Johan Cruyff Foundation. 3500 participants took part in the event, who started at the Johan Cruijff Arena. The sporty types ran or walked 5 or 14 kilometers. Susila Cruijff, the daughter of, looks back with satisfaction.

The fourth edition of the run takes place on the day before the 75th birthday of the legendary number 14. The starting signal was given at 2.14 pm by Sjaak Swart and Susila Cruijff. Johan Cruijff’s daughter is proud that so many different people participate in the event. “That we can get all these kinds of people together through sport, old, young, woman, man”, Cruijff sums up. “What culture you come from or whether you’re in a wheelchair… The point is, we can all do it together. My father would have been very proud of this.”

It was clearly a relief for the runners that after two canceled editions due to corona, it was now possible to participate again. “You don’t just exercise for yourself to stay healthy, but we also do it for the foundation to collect money for that,” says one participant. “So on all sides just very positive.”

Ambassador Frank Rijkaard is also proud of Johan Cruijff’s legacy. “I think that is a nice confirmation of what he has achieved”, he refers to the many participants. “And which he also wanted, because people are of course also here for his Cruyff Foundation.”
