A chase took place in the center of Genk, Limburg, around 4:15 PM on Sunday afternoon after officers from the CARMA police zone noticed a car that had been reported as stolen. Dashcam footage, recorded from different angles, shows police chasing the car through the city centre.

According to press officer Vicky Flossy of CARMA police zone, patrols noticed the car during a check on Sunday afternoon. “Our teams went after that car because the vehicle was reported stolen,” it said.
Crashed?
The car is said to have crashed during the chase, although the police could not yet confirm on Sunday evening how exactly the accident happened. The two occupants then ran away, but were intercepted by the police a short time later and taken to the police station.
The identity of the suspects was not yet known on Sunday evening. “They had no identification documents with them, so we are still working on identification,” said Flossy. Both individuals are currently being questioned and further investigations are ongoing.
