Darts world champion Luke Littler confidently reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in the first game after the dispute with the fans in London. The 18-year-old Englishman quickly won the game against Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski 5-0.
Now he will face compatriot Ryan Searle in the round of the last four on Friday evening (from 8.30 p.m.). “Heavy Metal” had the Welshman in the afternoon Johnny Clayton defeated 5:2.
Littler continues to have his sights firmly set on successfully defending his title at the World Championships. He is also among the top four players in his third World Cup participation.
Reconciliation with the audience
On top of that, Littler was able to look forward to a reconciliation with the audience at Alexandra Palace after his last biting words.
After angry calls from darts fans during Littler’s round of 16 game, the high-flyer caused a stir with a rebellious reaction. On New Year’s Day, isolated whistles from fans quickly turned into chants of homage.
Littler with first “Big Fish”
Against the clearly inferior Ratajski, who had undergone two operations for aneurysms last year, Littler played with concentration from start to finish.
In set one he managed his first “big fish” at this year’s World Cup, the highest possible finish for 170 points. In set five, Littler secured victory with the first match dart.
