“Littler-Mania” continues: The English darts super talent Luke Littler made it to the quarter-finals at the World Cup in London after a great fight.
In the last game of the year, the 17-year-old title contender fought his way to a 4-3 win against his strong compatriot Ryan Joyce and remains one of the top favorites for the most important trophy in the darts world.
In the round of the last eight, Littler now has to face Nathan Aspinall.
The Englishman had eliminated the last remaining German in the lunch session. Ricardo Pietreczko didn’t find his way into the game at all and received a 0-4 defeat.
Littler, on the other hand, was immediately there, started with a 180 and also started with the highest possible score in the second leg. “The Nuke” immediately took a 1-0 lead.
But then he received a break and came under pressure when Joyce equalized the set.
The third round went to Littler again. Nevertheless, he had to accept the 2:2 and left the stage shaking his head.
With the score at 3-2, Littler already had a match dart but couldn’t use it and Joyce forced him into extra time. There, Littler immediately broke through his 39-year-old opponent’s throw and finally converted his fourth match dart.
