A year after his farewell, the Brazilian defender still has a special relationship with the club and the fans: he will be a spectator at tomorrow’s match, Bremer’s hundredth in black and white.

January 2 – 9.21pm – TURIN

Sometimes they come back. Exactly one year after his somewhat controversial transfer, Danilo will set foot again at the Allianz Stadium to watch Juve-Lecce. The former Juventus captain has maintained a special relationship with the club and with the fans, but twelve months ago – when Motta and Giuntoli were at the helm of Juve’s sporting project – he had not swallowed the decision to show him the door: the choice had been communicated to him at the very beginning of the January transfer window, when the defender would have wanted to stay (“I don’t know of any captain who leaves his team in the middle of the season”), but then – forced to accept reality – he decided to return to Brazil to play for Flamengo which is the team he loved most as a child.

return to ex

No tour of the pitch or crowds expected for the former Juventus captain, who before leaving Turin had openly declared that “Juve is no longer the same family”, evidently referring to the relationships of that period. The defender, however, remained linked to Juve and continues to support them now that everything has changed a bit at Continassa among the men in the management and on the pitch. Danilo will therefore be present at the special evening of one of his compatriots whom he welcomed and supported in his first months at Juve together with another Brazilian, Alex Sandro: namely Bremer, for whom Juve-Lecce will be match number 100 with the black and white shirt.
