Danilo makes spicy switch: Ajax striker leaves for Feyenoord

Danilo makes a very sensitive transfer in the football world. The Ajax striker leaves for Feyenoord on a free transfer. The 23-year-old Brazilian will sign a contract until the summer of 2026.

Ajax wanted to extend its expiring contract at the end of last year, in order to have a transfer fee left over in the event of a departure. Danilo felt that the proposal lacked appreciation and can therefore look for a new club.

Feyenoord reported early and after good talks with Feyenoord coach Arne Slot, Danilo was convinced. Danilo thus follows the reverse route of Steven Berghuis. The attacker made the switch from Feyenoord to Ajax last year.

In total, Danilo was under contract with Ajax for five years, which took him over from Brazilian Santos for two million euros. In his first years, he mainly played for Young Ajax and in 2020 Danilo was loaned out to FC Twente. In Enschede he made seventeen hits, after which he gained the confidence of trainer Erik ten Hag, who considered him one of the best finishers of the Ajax selection.
