Daniel-Kofi Kyereh before SC Freiburg transfer – topic for Werder Bremen ticked off

FC St. Pauli beckons record sales

This article was first published on June 17 at 7:59 p.m. and was updated on June 19 with new information about Daniel-Kofi Kyereh’s cancellation to Werder Bremen.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh from FC St. Pauli, who has been courted by several Bundesliga clubs, is apparently drawn to SC Freiburg. The portal reported “dyke room” from Bremen on Friday, which coincided with information from “Sky”. However, the deal is not fixed yet, both clubs still have to come to an agreement. The attacking midfielder has also recently been linked to Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

According to reports from the “Deichstube” and the “Picture”-Zeitung ready to go to their financial pain limit for a transfer of the 26-year-old, the 26-year-old should be the “king transfer”. A change is now unlikely. The legal footer, who is currently on vacation, is expected to make a decision in June.

Update June 19, 1:04 p.m.: Clemens Fritz, Werder’s head of licensing, was announced on Sunday by the “Picture” quoted as follows: “We have dealt with him intensively. But that’s over for us now. We would have liked to do that, but the player decided to go a different route.” The ex-pro continued: “We had good discussions, we were in a good exchange. It is a great pity that he chose a different path. But sometimes that’s how it is in football.” In addition to the previous interested parties, the paper now also named Mainz 05 and Besiktas Istanbul. According to reports, it still looks like a move to Freiburg.

The Ghanaian national player is still under contract with the “Kiezkickern” until 2023, so this summer would be the last chance for St. Pauli to receive the much-cited market value fee. Kyereh had increased his market value to 3 million euros in the past season. The transfer fee is now EUR 4.5 million, which would be a record amount for FC St. Pauli. To date, the club has made the most money from the sale of Marcel Halstenberg.

Kyereh second best scorer at FC St. Pauli 2021/22

Kyereh contributed 13 goals and eleven assists for Hamburg in all competitions this season, only striker Guido Burgstaller collected more scorer points for the brown and whites. Kyereh probably also secured his ticket for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. National coach Otto Addo recently said in a TM interview: “In view of his performances in the current season, a lot would have to happen to Daniel-Kofi Kyereh for me to say: “He can’t keep up.” The boy not only inspires in the 2. Bundesliga, but has also done very well recently in the national team. I don’t like to lean out of the window, as I said, there are still six months, but of course he will normally be there – he’s just too strong for that.”
