Several vulnerabilities have been found in the system chips produced by Samsung. The components that create the connection (baseband) of the Exynos chips enable an attacker to break into the user’s phone just by knowing the target’s phone number. About that said Google’s Project Zero – information security researchers.

The vulnerability makes it possible for an attacker to gain access to the user’s calls, text messages and other data traffic.

An update to prevent the vulnerability is not yet available. It is possible for the user to limit the exploitation of the vulnerability by preventing the use of the internet in calls, i.e. Wi-Fi calls and VoLTE features. Instructions vary by model.

You can find Samsung’s instructions for their devices from here.
