This location forms a strategic base for the police zone in the Zwin region. “The building will have a warm and inviting appearance, with a clear central entrance and a well-organized lobby,” says Chief of Police Steve Desmet. “Thanks to a clear customer guidance system, visitors and employees can find their way through the building easily and as autonomously as possible. Transparency and readability are central.”
31 million euros
In the multi-year plan 2026–2030, the municipal council of Knokke-Heist provides an investment budget of 31 million euros for the realization of the new police house. Knokke-Heist acts as client, after which the building will be rented to the Damme/Knokke-Heist police zone. Over a period of 33 years, Knokke-Heist will account for 91% of the investment and Damme for 9%.

Before construction work can start, an amendment to the Provincial Spatial Implementation Plan (PRUP) for this site must first be approved.
