Damar Hamlin discharged from hospital

Football pro Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills has left the Cincinnati hospital just a week after suffering cardiac arrest during an NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 24-year-old was flown to Buffalo, where he is being treated at another clinic. “We are thrilled and proud to announce that Damar Hamlin has been discharged from the hospital and returned to Buffalo,” the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati said Monday.

Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after colliding with an opponent and had to be resuscitated. “He is doing well and this is the next stage of his recovery,” the hospital said.

On Sunday, Hamlin watched from the hospital as his team secured second place in the AFC by beating the New England Patriots (35-23). “GameDay… There’s nothing I want more than to walk out of this tunnel with my brothers,” he wrote on Twitter.
