Storm Franklin also raged in the night from Sunday to Monday. Franklin has created new problems in several places in the province.
The wind was blowing hard and Limburg had to deal with heavy showers with hail, wet snow and thunderstorms. The fire brigade received several reports of storm damage.
Injury
At about 00:40 hours, the fire brigade had to turn out for a fallen tree in Maastricht. That happened at a Jan Linders supermarket on Rijksweg. The tree just fell next to a parked car. According to a correspondent, the building sustained significant damage.
Lightning strike
The emergency services also had to take action in Stein. At around 11:50 PM, the fire brigade received a report of a fire at Pastoor van Heldenplein. Lightning struck a church in the Nieuwdorp district. That was a hard blow. Firefighters eventually checked the roof, but the church was not damaged.
heavy wind gusts
After the storms of recent days, we still have to take into account heavy gusts of wind on Monday. The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) warns against this. In Limburg, the wind speed will move towards 75 to 90 kilometers per hour on Monday. The weather institute has issued the weather warning code yellow, due to heavy wind gusts. Especially between 12:00 and 18:00 people have to be careful outside. The wind gusts can cause nuisance for traffic and outdoor activities.

Rain and wind
According to Meteo Limburg, Monday morning will start dry. During the first part of the afternoon it will be cloudy with showers, possibly hail, and long periods of rain. It clears up later. It will be about 8 degrees and it feels colder due to a lot of wind.
The wind will decrease in strength from Tuesday and heavy gusts are no longer expected, according to Meteo Limburg.
