Internacional leaves club icon D’Alessandro. The left-footed player was only interrupted by a loan to youth club CA River Plate in 2016 and a move to Club Nacional in Uruguay in 2021 for the traditional club. D’Alessandro won the Copa Sudamericana with the Porto Alegre club in 2008 and the Copa Libertadores in 2010. That same year he was named South America’s Footballer of the Year.

D’Alessandro became known in Germany through his time at VfL Wolfsburg, where he was under contract from 2003 to 2007 and scored 13 goals and prepared 19 goals in 75 games. With a fee of 9.5 million euros paid to River Plate, the 2004 Olympic champion became the record purchase of the “Wolves” at the time.
