To celebrate the tenth anniversary of their fifth and final album, RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES, Daft Punk will release a new edition on May 12th. It contains nine new outtakes with a total of 35 minutes of material. The French House duo shared eight of these announced minutes yesterday, Wednesday (March 22). The track “The Writing of Fragments of Time” is an edited recording of the February 29, 2012 studio session during which the original title with Todd Edwards was created. Edwards and Thomas Bangalter can be heard in conversation over a loop of the instrumental.

Following the duo’s breakup in February 2021, Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have begun managing their legacy. This includes sharing an old performance video in which they both perform without their iconic masks. They also regularly publish videos with snippets of archive recordings on their TikTok channel.

Just before fans can catch the fully curated behind-the-scenes look at RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES, Thomas Bangalter will take them on a new leg of his personal journey on April 7th. Then a solo album by the 48-year-old entitled MYTHOLOGIES will be released. Last Friday (March 17) the third single of the 90-minute symphonic work was released, recorded with the Orchester National Bordeaux Aquitaine.
