D66 leader Rob Jetten wants an extra 10 billion euros per year for defense and a European army

Party leader Rob Jetten of D66 wants the Netherlands to increase the NATO standard from 2 percent to ‘at least 3 percent’. He reported this in his Europe speech in Amsterdam on Saturday. Converted, this amounts to more than 10 billion euros extra per year for the armed forces. D66 wants to pay for this by partially canceling the proposed reduction in the deductible and with a higher tax for the rich.
