Czech Republic issued more than 250 thousand visas to Ukrainian refugees

The Czech authorities issued 254,537 thousand special visas to refugees from Ukraine, allowing them to obtain asylum in the republic. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country on Twitter.

According to the agency, the largest number of refugees from Ukraine was registered in Prague – more than 60 thousand. The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that more than 50% of internally displaced persons in the Czech Republic are children.

According to the forecasts of the Czech authorities, up to 550,000 citizens of Ukraine will come to the republic.

The Prime Minister of the Republic, Petr Fiala, reported on March 17 that
about 270,000 refugees from Ukraine have arrived in the Czech Republic, and the authorities are already running out of resources to accommodate the refugees.
