“I miss her Zeeland accent. She used to speak like Sergio Herman.” Since half a pill of the drug Zyprexa disrupted her speech, the cheerful Cynthia De Smit (55) from Ostend in West Flanders only expresses herself in sounds. Together with her husband Ludwig Van Damme, she has been looking for an answer for two years, but they couldn’t even find one at UZ Gent. “It has only made our bond even closer,” says Ludwig.
