The 23-year-old from Nieuwpoort took a rest period after the World Cup in Gavere on December 26 due to health problems and will extend it in order to focus on his recovery and his second road season at Intermarché-Wanty from now on.
“Gerben Kuypers contracted a viral infection a few weeks ago and has ended up in a vicious circle of disturbed recovery and fatigue. Thanks to rest, his body is now recovering well. We expect him to be fully recovered within a few weeks,” says team doctor Paul Jorna.
