Cyclist who ran over a walking woman and ran away reports

The cyclist who ran over a woman at high speed in April in the tunnel of Stationsstraat in Helmond – and ran away without caring for her – has reported herself to the police. That was announced Monday morning.

The woman recognized herself on images that were shown last week in the Bureau Brabant investigation program of Omroep Brabant. The police and the judiciary paid attention to this collision because they consider the cyclist’s behavior dangerous and unacceptable.

Get up and drive away quickly
The 68-year-old victim suffered serious injuries to her arm in the collision. The wound she sustained had to be stitched up. Months later, she was still suffering from the effects.

The accident happened on Good Friday, at 7 p.m. The cyclist drove through the tunnel so fast that she could not avoid a couple walking there. The couple’s wife fell, as did the perpetrator. The cyclist then quickly got up and drove away. She left the victim.
