A 72-year-old cyclist is said to have hit and seriously injured a pedestrian on the footpath in front of a supermarket in Alt-Hohenschönhausen without taking care of her afterwards.
Instead, the alleged cause of the accident is said to have gone shopping on Monday afternoon just before 12 noon, as the police announced on Tuesday. A 40-year-old witness took care of the injured and made an emergency call.
When the 72-year-old came with his purchases from the supermarket on the main street in Alt-Hohenschönhausen, he downplayed the allegations in front of the police, it was said. A breath alcohol test showed zero alcohol.

The 68-year-old pedestrian was taken to a clinic for inpatient treatment with a broken leg.
The police are investigating for negligent bodily harm.
