A cycling couple was injured late on Friday evening in the Noord-Brabantlaan in Eindhoven, near the bicycle bridge on the Hovenring. According to the husband of the couple, his wife and he were deliberately hit from behind by a scooter rider or fatbiker and then ran away.
According to a police spokesperson, it is unclear whether the couple was actually hit or whether the two victims were shocked by the catching scooter rider and therefore fell.
Head injury and broken ribs
“We have not yet been able to hear both victims because they were brought to a hospital in an ambulance,” explains the spokesperson on Saturday afternoon. “The scooter rider has certainly not stopped and did not take care of the couple.”
The woman is said to have sustained head injury, the man would have broken a number of ribs.
