Cycling club spins for blind member
Michel, one of their members, is blind but can still cycle along every week. Thanks to a tandem, with an electric motor.
Stefaan Wille, Cycling club SUST ‘Samen Uit, Samen Thuis’: “Once it is up to speed, this all goes pretty well, but to get it up to speed you really need a lot of effort. And that electrical support is very welcome. How fast we drive? Well, we sometimes dare to average up to 28 km/h.”
“We have noticed from the beginning of the season that this is a huge boost for him. If he can join us at the weekend. He is eagerly looking forward to that for a whole week and it is special to see him blossom . Absolute.”
All together, about 150 sports enthusiasts crawl on the spinning bike. Tonight, two world champions from the G-sport will also be pedaling for an hour. In addition to the electric motor, the club supports two other projects for charity.
