Cult fan Michael Zeman (✝57) dies on a trip to Qatar

Actually, he wanted to be part of the World Cup draw on Friday in Qatar. But now what is probably the most famous fan of the record champions is dead. He probably died shortly after his arrival in the World Cup host country.

FC Bayern mourns the loss of what is probably their most famous fan. Michael Zeman, known as “Buschmann”, died at the age of just 57. This is reported, among other things, by “Bild”.

Accordingly, Zeman died of a heart attack shortly after landing on a trip to Qatar. Munich’s noble fan had been invited to the draw for the World Cup groups on Friday in Doha by the World Cup host. He is said to have received an official invitation to the ceremony from the Supreme Committee of Qatar “because you love football and are so loyal to your national team.”

A friend of Zeman told BILD: “The heart attack must have happened on the way from the airport to the hotel. He died before he could check into his hotel. Tragic.” Zeman is said to have had no previous illnesses. He leaves his wife.

Since 1987, Zeman had followed FC Bayern to training camps and games around the world. With his outfit consisting of a robe with more than 100 patches and 40 fan scarves, he achieved cult status in Munich’s fan scene.
