Crown Prince Haakon of Norway met the Norwegian media on Tuesday afternoon at the Abel Prize awarding ceremony. At the event, Haakon commented on the health of his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
– The Crown Princess is seriously ill. I think his condition has deteriorated a bit, so I am worried about his health, Haakon told a Norwegian newspaper for VG.
– He uses oxygen in his everyday life, but it is not a completely satisfactory solution.
Mette-Marit has been suffering from incurable pulmonary fibrosis since 2018. She has said herself earlier that the disease has worsened recently, and she has had to miss several work assignments.
However, on May 17, Mette-Marit participated in the Norwegian National Day celebrations together with her family. At that time, the crown princess represented in a mustache and a stool was brought to the place for her, on which she sat most of the time.
