Crotone, ultra madness. Punches and slaps to the players at the jousting with the families

Those who rebelled against the threats of the fans were beaten up. The condemnation of the club. Mogos: “Can you use violence in front of children just because you are demoted? You make me sick”

“Since you made us back down, what are you doing here at the rides? You don’t have the right to have fun and therefore you have to stay indoors.” This more or less the tone of the threatening requests that a group of young rossoblù fans on Tuesday night addressed to some Crotone players (half a dozen including Mogos, Cuomo and Mondonico) who with their families had gone to the rides that from a few days they stay in the city in view of the celebrations in honor of the Madonna di Capocolonna, protector of the diocese. In a few moments we passed from threats to de facto ways (slaps and punches) also because some players did not share the provocation and responded in kind.

The result was a real attack which according to some witnesses was short-lived but which forced the players to leave the entertainment venue in a hurry. Fortunately, no one had to resort to medical treatment and everything ended in a short time but the seriousness of the episode remains. Paradoxically, the crime happened a few tens of meters from the stadium where this year Crotone, after the useless home victory against Cremonese, collected the second painful relegation in a row. A thud from Serie A to Serie C that obviously some rowdy, in the mood for free justicialism, did not like.

The club of president Gianni Vrenna immediately acted as a shield to its players by publishing a statement on the official website expressing the strongest condemnation of violence in all its forms and full solidarity with the players involved. Vasile Mogos, one of the involuntary protagonists of the evening, the next day increased the dose on one of his social profiles by beating the authors of the insane gesture. “I just wanted to say a few words to those who attacked us last night at the jousting – writes the Romanian defensive winger -. But do you really think you are fans? But do you really think that after a year closed at home now that the championship is over and with the party in town we footballers and our families have to stay indoors to make you happy? Can you use violence in front of children in a place of fun just because you are relegated? Is that how it works? Luckily this place is made up of good and beautiful people who do not deserve all this as we do not deserve it. But you, who do not know whether to define yourselves as people, you make me sick “.
