The German women ran to the podium at the team sprint in Cogne. Laura Gimmler and final runner Coletta Rydzek only had to give up Finland and Sweden. Norway won the men, the German team missed the qualification for the final.
The German team stayed in the top group right from the start. Laura Gimmler positioned himself behind the two Norwegian teams. The Oberstdorfer then put on at her last round and sat on one. She handed over to Coletta Rydzek with a three -second lead over the Finnish Duos.
Rydzek loses leadership, but Podest fought
The woman from SC Oberstdorf restored first place and was not up to the pace of Finnin Jasmi Joensuu. The Finnin was the first to finish in 19: 04.5 minutes before Sweden (+0.90 seconds). In the end, Rydzek had to fight for third place, but successfully defended it in front of Switzerland (+1.20 seconds).
DSV men miss the final
There were little for men to cheer. The DSV teams around Jan Stölben and Janosch Brugger as well as Simon Jung and Alexander Brandner failed in qualification. The final came from without big names. Most top nations Norway and Sweden protected their stars.
Nevertheless, Team Norway won with Even Northug and Erik Valnes (16: 51.10 minutes) in front of the Frenchman Jules Chappaz and Richard Jouve (0.5 seconds). Third finished Sweden with Johan Haeggstroem and Maas Skoglund (+1.0 seconds).
