As of: December 13, 2024 6:54 p.m

The German cross-country skiers Coletta Rydzek and Laura Gimmler missed a podium place in the team sprint in Davos by 0.4 seconds. In the end, Team Germany I took fourth place. The victory went to Sweden. In the men’s race, Johannes Kläbo secured victory for Norway.

It was a very close race. In the final sprint, Coletta Rydzek lacked the last grain to overtake the Swiss Anja Weber. Only 0.4 seconds were missing for a German podium in the team sprint at the start of the World Cup in Davos. Switzerland secured third place in the home race (+4.5 seconds). The victory went to the Swedish duo Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom. Norway took second place (+0.37).

Many of the big names sat out the women’s team sprint. Maja Dahlqvist, Linn Svahn, Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson from the Swedish team and the Norwegians Kristine Stavas Skistad and Heidi Weng took a break at the last World Cup stop before the Tour de Ski. Nevertheless, the second German team made up of Sofie Krehl and Anna-Marie Dietze only came in tenth.

Kläbo decides the race for Norway

Among the German men, only one team managed to qualify. However, Anian Sossau and Jan Stölben had nothing to do with the top ranks. The usual suspects from Switzerland, the USA, France, Sweden and Norway made up their minds.

Johannes Kläbo decided the race with a start at the beginning of the twelfth and final lap. The dominator could no longer be caught by his opponents and so in the end it was a very confident victory for Norway. Second place went to Switzerland. Sweden came third, beating Italy in the photo finish. The DSV team ended up in tenth place.
