Panda mask rapper Cro surprisingly announced a new album for this summer. It will be called 11:11 and will be released on August 12, 2022 – less than a year and a half after his previous album trip. Cro announced this in an Instagram video, in which he emphasized the summery character of the album: “My new album is called 11:11 and it means a lot to me. It’s beautiful, it’s my favorite album actually. It suits the summer. You can dance to it, you can party to it. It’s very vibey, very wavey. Stay tuned! There’s a lot of love in there.”
“Crobot” and “Freiheit”: Two singles from the upcoming album have already been released
But the album announcement had already hinted at it a little. The rapper, who is currently spending a lot of time on the Indonesian island of Bali, released two new singles in the past few weeks, which – as has now become known – will also be part of the new album. At the end of April, the rapper first released the single “Crobot”, followed a few weeks later by the song “Freiheit”. A third album single is scheduled to go online next Friday, June 17th.
Cro tattooed the album title
Cro finds the album title so successful that he had it tattooed. In the Instagram video, he shows his two feet, each with the number 11 emblazoned on it. The now announced album is Cro’s fifth studio album, following his debut albums RAOP (2012), MELODIE (2014), TRU (2017) and TRIP (2021). While there was a gap of almost four years between the two previous albums, the rapper is now probably in a production mood again. Most recently, Cro was also heard as a feature guest – on the songs “Everything different (less fucked up)” by R&B artist Schmyt and on “Happy“ by the Dresden rap crew 01099.
