A novelty film about the Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe Blonde has already received criticism for the lead actor’s accent even before its premiere. The film will be released on the Neflix streaming service on September 28.
In the film, Monroe is played by a Cuban-Spanish actor Ana de Armas.
Now Monroe’s family has come to the defense of de Armas and expressed their support for the actor’s casting.
Perikunna told Variety magazine that de Armas was the right choice for the role, as the actress captures Monroe’s glamour, humanity and vulnerability.
