Cristiano Ronaldo was actually supposed to play with his club Al Nassr in Dubai this week. But the game had to be canceled.

The tense situation in the Middle East is now also having an impact on international football. A game by Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al Nassr has been canceled for the time being because of the Iran war.

The Saudi Arabian club were due to play in Champions League Two at Al Wasl in Dubai this week. Wednesday’s game in the United Arab Emirates was canceled due to clashes in the region. Other encounters in the Middle East are also affected.

The Asian Football Association AFC, based in Kuala Lumpur, said it was monitoring the rapidly evolving situation and wanted to ensure the safety of players, teams, officials and fans.

There are also consequences in tennis. The tournament in Dubai, which has now ended, is affected by the severe restrictions on air traffic. The professional organization ATP said in a statement that it was in regular contact with players, their teams and the relevant local authorities.

The next tournament planned is Indian Wells in California. The ATP said it was supporting players and teams to leave safely as soon as conditions permitted.
