Cristiano Ronaldo has temporarily left Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC to receive thigh treatment in Spain, according to coach Jorge Jesus. “Ronaldo suffered a muscle injury in the last game and after the examination it was clear that he needed rest and treatment. That is why we decided to send him to Spain, as we have already done this season with Ayman Yahya, Iñigo Martinez and Sami Al-Najei,” Coach Jesus said at a press conference.
The leaders of the Saudi Pro League had previously confirmed the Portuguese’s injury and said that the 41-year-old had started a rehabilitation program and was being examined day by day. Jesus now stated that Ronaldo would miss the next two games. Therefore, the offensive player, who is Al Nassr’s top scorer in all competitions with 22 goals in 26 appearances, was allowed to leave for Madrid.
Al-Nassr will face Neom SC in the league on Saturday. The club was originally scheduled to play against Al-Wasl in Asia’s second most important continental competition on Wednesday. However, this game was canceled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
