Crimes in Donbass: Investigative Committee named names

Ukrainians Yarosh, Tarasenko and Stempytsky in 2013 created the nationalist organization “Right Sector” (banned in Russia). Together in the infamous battle “Azov” they involved in crimes in Donbass, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia.

There are citizens of the Russian Federation among the Azov militants. So, the Russian Anton Korolev from 2015 to 2019 fought against the people’s militia of the LPR. Two more Russian citizens, Shirobokov and Zheleznov, were sentenced in absentia to prison terms in the Russian Federation, but are hiding from justice in Ukraine.

In total, the ICR is investigating and intends to bring to court over 400 criminal cases about the events in Donbass. During the 8 years of conflict in the region, over 2,600 civilians were killed, and about 5,500 more were injured.

The Investigative Committee has evidence that ex-commander of the Ukrainian Navy Igor Voronchenko, commander of the Air Force Sergei Drozdov, commander of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces Mikhail Zabrodsky, and head of special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lunev were involved in the crimes in Donbass.

“The crimes of the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko and the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko, who publicly called for terrorist activities, are obvious,” the Investigative Committee added.

The investigation also plans to prosecute the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, the former governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky, and the former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Turchynov.
