Flemish Minister of the Interior Hilde Crevits (CD&V) has prepared a memorandum with a thorough reform of the rules regarding cemeteries and funeral services. Those rules needed to be revised. The new rules should not only lead to more transparent prices and rates, they should also put an end to commercial activities surrounding the bodies of the deceased, such as the controversial ‘whisper deals’.
