The Grigiorossi coach asks for maximum concentration if not more in view of the match against the last team in the standings. It is precisely in these matches that great dangers hide

There Cremonese prepares for the delicate challenge of salvation against the Florentine. A challenge that could say a lot about the season of Davide’s boys Nicholas. Fresh from the internal KO against the Naplesi Violins they face a team in great difficulty and in last place in the standings, but beware of taking tomorrow’s match lightly. Kick-off at 3pm. A few hours ago the Grigiorossi coach spoke at the press conference.
Cremonese, Nicola ready for Fiorentina: “It’s time to push even harder”.

The first championship match of 2026 brings the Cremonese at the Franchi stadium to face one Florentine last in the rankings and in the midst of a crisis. Immediately a very important match for Davide’s team Nicholas which, so far, has proven to be one of the best surprises of the championship. One more reason to continue to do well and reach safe safety as soon as possible. But no voltage drops. The match in Florence hides a thousand pitfalls for the grey-reds, aware that it will be a very delicate match to be interpreted in the right way.
Davide Nicola knows this well before anyone else, speaking at the press conference this morning: “We will need to be 100% focused on ourselves, I told the boys. Now there comes a moment in which we have to push, try to make the third leap in quality. The match against Naples we faced it with courage and determination but now we all need to be 100% focused to achieve our goal“.
Ahead of the match against Viola the Lombard coach has recovered Vandeputte. An important absence recently which, however, the team has shown it knows how to overcome: “Vandeputte has recovered from the flu, from Florence onwards we will play every 4 days and as I told the boys we must continue doing what we are doing with an extra sense of self-efficacy“.
Having arrived at Cremonese last September after his experience at Cagliari, Nicola had a very promising start to the season. Almost at the halfway point, the Grigiorossi find themselves in mid-table with 21 points. An unpredictable position until last summer: “I am satisfied with the approach I have had towards the environment and I hope that vice versa will be the same – says the Lombard coach – Here there is unity of purpose and a similar perception, what motivates and drives me is being able to achieve the goal we have in mind. This environment has potential for growth and it needs to be done in a measured, thoughtful manner and achieving the set objective. I live for this and I am lucky enough to work in an environment that makes me feel at ease”.
Davide Nicola press conference: how to face Fiorentina

Will Bonazzoli be on the pitch tomorrow? “Federico is a player who has found space and shown that he can be important. At the end of the championship some will have played more than others, but in this type of football it is important to always create the right collaboration within the departments because it is useful both for those who are playing with more continuity. To give a great hand to the team you need to be determined on the pitch, and whether it’s at the start or during the match it’s always important. Indeed, I always say that whoever has an impact during the race is even more decisive”.
Tomorrow Cremonese will visit one Florentine more than ever in need of victory to continue to believe in salvation. THE ViolaUp until now, they have shown that they know how to play with four in defence. On this Nicola replied: “In many technical projects what works is carried forward by different teams, in football today the ability to build with three or four with the help of midfielders and wingers is often seen and it is something that we do too. Every week we expect the opponent to change something and the only way to prepare is to experience it on the pitch”.
What will it take to beat one of your direct rivals for salvation? “Our focus is 100% on usas I said at the beginning of the conference. There isn’t a game in which we aren’t at a disadvantage, but we have the ardor and sense of realism to know that anyone can be superior to us. We know perfectly well where we are going to play, we challenge a qualitative team and we want to demonstrate that we are competitive on such difficult pitches. We have a group of intelligent and applied kids, being perfect is difficult but we must aspire to that, because it leads us to improvement“
A good part of Cremonese’s season could be decided as early as January given the many commitments between a few and against direct competitors for staying in Serie A. Nicola responded to this like this: “I struggle to project myself in such a long period of time and it’s not a question of superstition. We are a team that is trying to follow a path in which we do not want to feel inferior to others“. A first direct rival will be tomorrow afternoon but Nicola and his teammates are anything but worried. The real championship for Cremonese begins now.
