+++ November 30th: Two more candidates for slot successor traded +++
At Liverpool FC, the blessing couldn’t be more lopsided at the moment: the embarrassing 1:4 defeat during the league phase of the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven during the week has caused a sporting crisis of historic proportions. So it’s no wonder that coach Arne Slot’s job is anything but secure.
After there was recent speculation about a shortlist of successors for Slot, two new names have now been brought into play. If the master coach cannot avert the crisis in December, according to “fichajes.net” a duo should have a good chance of getting the job at the Reds: Brendan Rodgers and Andoni Iraola.
Rodgers is said to be the Liverpool manager’s preferred candidate. The Northern Irishman has been without a club since the end of October after leaving Glasgow with Celtic. He worked as a team manager for the Reds between 2012 and 2015 and reportedly still has a good reputation with the bosses. Rodgers can handle the pressure.
Iraola, currently coach of AFC Bournemouth, is also valued. It is said that what those responsible like about the Spaniard is his dynamic, courageous style of play.
