Crazy defense for moon awards at Springsteen concerts

When Bruce Springsteen announces a tour, fans line up. Also online. But if you wanted to look for tickets on Ticketmaster, you must have been quite amazed.

Prices went up to $5,000. The online service sees no problem in this. Ticketmaster pointed out that most of the tickets sold for less than $200.

In response to the criticism, Ticketmaster published internal statistics on tickets sold. The cards priced up to $5,000 would account for only about 11 percent. So instead of denying the hefty sums, they emphasized that the rest of the tickets are in the $59 to $400 range.

“Dynamic Prices”

But how could the concert tickets get so expensive? Ticketmaster speaks of “dynamic prices” on its website. This means that some cards are based on demand and can skyrocket quickly. So if a lot of people want tickets, then the price can double or triple.

“A similar concept is used to sell plane tickets or hotel rooms,” Ticketmaster defended. In addition, the prices for the concert are normal for a “top performer” like Springsteen. The “boss”, who likes to portray himself as a “man of the people”, has not yet spoken out.

Ruthless competitive methods

Ticketmaster has been repeatedly criticized for its working methods in recent years. Just earlier this year, the online giant was sued for “reckless competitive practices.” The group is also accused of anti-competitive behavior.
