Woldenaren will receive a new green container this summer. The previous variant that was introduced two years ago was always broken. The quality of the bin was not good and that led to frustrations among residents.
The municipality of De Wolden spoke to the supplier Kliko Eurobins, but a solution was not forthcoming. After negotiations there will be new waste bins and they have since been tested and found strong enough according to the municipality.
The green containers that are still being used today go on sale. All bins will soon have to be exchanged. De Wolden allocates 100,000 euros for the exchange action.
The problem with the green containers in De Wolden has been playing for quite some time. Over the years, dozens of reports arrived at the municipality of residents who state that the bins are cracking and dents during emptying.
After research it became clear that the clicks cannot withstand heat and therefore break. As an interim solution, people could exchange their broken green bowl at the municipality for a new one.
Alderman Rudi Hooch Antink hopes that the problem is finally out of the world. “Finally, all residents of the Wolden can put their vegetable, fruit and garden waste on the road again in a strong, reliable container.”
