Court reopens investigation into murder of Peter R. de Vries | Inland

The reason is that the Public Prosecution Service has sent new documents to the court and the defense, according to the court, which adds that those documents show that the investigation “was not complete.”

A few weeks ago, the Public Prosecution Service demanded life sentences against the alleged gunman Delano G. (22) and the Pole Kamil E. (36), who allegedly committed preliminary reconnaissance and drove the getaway car.

Last Monday, police arrested new suspects in the case. That happened on the basis of statements by a witness from the immediate vicinity of one of the suspects in the murder. His statements would have provided firm evidence that the murder of the crime journalist was ordered by Ridouan Taghi, who is currently on trial in the mega-liquidation Marengo trial.

The court had closed the investigation on June 30 and was scheduled to rule on July 14. It is not yet certain that the ruling will not go through.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday 11 July. There, the Public Prosecution Service and the defense will have the opportunity to respond to the new information. A hearing is still scheduled for July 14. Whether it comes to a verdict on that day may become clear on Monday.
