The Council of State has rejected the request to suspend the ban on headscarves in East Flemish provincial secondary schools. Six students and three non-profit organizations had initiated proceedings against the neutrality regulations that prohibit the wearing of philosophical badges, symbols or clothing during educational activities in Richtpunt schools from September 1, 2026.
