France, Parliament suspends examination of the law on vaccination pass
The French National Assembly unexpectedly suspended, after eight hours of debate, the examination of the bill that provides for the transformation of the health pass into a vaccination pass overnight. The text, which was hoped to be approved today and then passed to the Senate the next day – with the consequent entry into force on January 15 – was suspended after a majority of opposition deputies refused to continue the discussion, voting for the suspension of the sitting, when about 500 amendments still had to be examined. “The goal of the vaccination pass – explained the Minister of Health, Olivier Veran yesterday – is to save lives and protect our hospitals. It is a measure of responsibility, worthy of a country that has never given up. We have to face our enemies, which are the Delta and Omicron variant, while we protect the French ”.

China, 3 cases in Yuzhou, 1.2 million people in lockdown
Chinese authorities have today placed about 1.17 million people in lockdown, i.e. the entire population of the city of Yuzhou, in the central province of Henan, after the discovery of three cases of coronavirus in recent days. Before today, the city had already suspended public transport – including taxis – and had closed shopping centers, museums and tourist attractions. China, which in a month will host the Winter Olympics, has registered 175 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours: among these, five have been detected in the province of Henan, 95 in the historic city of Xi’an (in the nearby province of Shaanxi ), which has been in lockdown for nearly two weeks, and eight in an outbreak linked to a garment factory in the eastern city of Ningbo.
