The Berlin police are now conducting 335 investigations on suspicion of billing fraud at corona test centers, the damage is said to be around 24 million euros. A comment from BZ editor Hildburg Bruns.
It’s not just a few black sheep, it’s a whole flock. 335 investigations into falsified accounts in corona test centers are already underway.
Is it therefore a fraud-prone business, as the AfD says? Only if nobody controls. And unfortunately you can assume that if one district checks four positions a month, another only eight in eight months.
Otherwise it would certainly have been noticed much earlier that some addresses are fake.

The demand to close all centers is just a knee-jerk reaction. There are many more properly working establishments and many Berliners use the roadside service. In addition, the number of infections is high and some employers require a negative test.
It’s a good thing that the federal government is covering the costs of the citizen test until the end of June.
