The Bocholter Phil Bauhaus has to cancel his participation in the Germany Tour. He missed the bike race due to a positive corona test.

Professional cyclist Phil Bauhaus (Bocholt) had to cancel his start on the Deutschland Tour that started on Wednesday (08/24/2022) due to a positive corona test. His team Bahrain Victorious said the 28-year-old sprinter had mild symptoms.

Buchmann and Politt there

The Bora-hansgrohe team had already announced on Monday that it would compete without its top drivers Lennard Kämna and Maximilian Schachmann. Both are missing due to health issues in the squad of the German cycling team for the home game. On the other hand, last year’s winners Nils Politt and Emanuel Buchmann are there as planned. Buchmann is driving the Deutschland Tour because he was unable to start the Tour of Spain as originally planned due to a urinary tract infection.

The Deutschland Tour begins with the prologue in Weimar (2.7 km), the five-day event leads to Stuttgart. Other destinations are Meiningen, Marburg and the mountain arrival at Schauinsland near Freiburg. The course covers a total of 710 kilometers and more than 11,000 meters in altitude.
